  • We were able to select the foods that are more digestible by our dog.
  • We have the option to offer a rich and varied diet.
  • We improve the dog’s immune system.
  • It is generally more palatable and accepted than commercial food.
  • We avoid the use of additives and preservatives.
  • The cost is very low in minis, small and medium breeds.

  • We need to spend time preparing revenue.
  • Supplements are needed to ensure the dog’s proper nutrition.
  • If not supervised by the veterinarian, we can create nutritional deficiencies.

Feeding the puppy puppy according to age

Now that you know these five recipes that serve as examples to start making homemade baby food, you need to know how often you should feed your dog . Do not forget that it is essential to follow the advice of your veterinarian; however, below we offer you a basic guide for guidance.

Feeding the puppy, month by month:

  • Before the month of life : the puppy less than one month old will only be fed with breast milk provided by the mother. If you do not have a mother or have been rejected by her, we can use artificial baby milk (sold in pharmacies or veterinary clinics), but we can also develop an emergency formula for exceptional cases.
  • 1 month : at this stage, the mother, in the wild, would begin to regurgitate the food (very digested) to offer it to the puppies in a very punctual way. It would be the first contact they would have with solid food. At this point, they begin to get milk teeth and we can offer a soft or mashed daily food, puree type, to our puppy.
  • 1 to 2 months : the bitch will gradually begin to stop feeding her puppies, so we must continue to press them between once and twice a day, as accepted, always the basis of very soft foods.
  • 2 – 6 months : At this stage, the puppy has already stopped feeding on breast milk and will begin to eat solid food on its own. It is ideal to offer you about three times a day. It is always recommended to crush the bones or use knee bones, for example.
  • 6 – 12 months : from six months of age, we can start feeding our puppy with two doses per day, as we do with adult dogs.

Remember that puppies should be fed the same products that you would use for an adult dog (meat, offal and bones) but with the difference that they need to eat more regularly and / or adapted to their age.

Do not forget that your puppy’s diet should be varied and complete and that you can use all kinds of meat, fish and vegetables good for dogs and supplement your diet with natural supplements for puppies . In the face of any health problems, especially vomiting or diarrhea, we should go to the vet immediately.

  • Choose healthy and quality food.
  • Consult the veterinarian for analysis and proper follow-up of your puppy.
