Steps to follow:
1

First you’ll start by gathering the materials needed to make the Minions costume for your dog:

  • Plush Minions
  • Glue or thread and needle
  • Black Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Card
  • Velcro
  • Pliers
2

Start by making a hole in Minion’s face so your dog can keep his head out. Calculate the measures so that the hole is not too large, just slightly more than the face of your pet.

Make a star and cut it by following the lines until you get several triangles as in the picture. Then glue the triangles inside to make the hole with a smooth edge and also prevent it from being dismantled.

3

The third step is to cut the feet of the Minion just above the point where the blue tissue meets the yellow of the feet.

4

Turn your Minion and cut it vertically about 10.16 centimeters even under the black ribbon that is around the plush head down.

5

Once you have finished the cut on the back of the doll, you should empty the inside of the Minion except for the arms and the top of the head.

6

Now you must sew or glue the hole you made in Minion’s face inwards. Remember that if you do not use color yarn that is not yellow or an excessive amount of glue the result will not look so good.

7

Now cut a round piece of black cloth , slightly larger than Minion’s head. You will use this fabric to seal your head to keep the stuffing in place. Sew it or glue it.

8

Cut a piece of cardboard with the measurements indicated.

  • 4 inches = 10.16 centimeters
  • 10 inches = 25.4 centimeters
9

Place the card inside the Minion’s body , placing the straight side at the top (at the head). Try to use the flat part without any designs in contact with the fabric. Use glue to glue the card to the fabric by applying it with a brush to prevent it from moving.

10

Make markings as shown in the picture and cut the back of the doll without even dividing it completely.

11

Cut another piece of cardboard as shown in the image:

  • 2 inches = 5.08 centimeters
  • 6 inches = 15.24 centimeters
  • 9 inches = 22.86 centimeters
12

Curve the card and glue it to the back of the Minion. Glue each flap on the curved piece of the inner walls of the other piece of carton.

13
14

Cut the clothes hanger so that it is the same size as the arm of the doll. Doing this will get Minion’s arm upright. Finish it in U-shape.

15

Now insert it inside the arm by locating the “U” inside the body. To prevent your puppy getting hurt it will be crucial to add another card or very strong adhesive tape to fix it. Then repeat on the other arm. When the glue attaches, you can bend the arms of the doll in the direction you want.

16 Add a Velcro to the top flap.

17

Take the doll’s jeans and cut them as we’ll explain next.

18

Now cut the back of the jeans so your dog is comfortable. Cut to the crotch, even where the seams join.

19

Depending on the height of your dog’s paws you should bend the legs of the jeans to prevent them from tripping and falling.

20

Now you can attach the Velcro to your own jeans and correctly attach the whole structure of the doll on your dog’s body. And you already have the minions costume for dog made!
