Can You Really Train Your Cat

You may be under the impression that it is difficult or even impossible to train your cat. This impression normally comes from the idea that cats seem to be very independent animals. Although this is true, and cats do seem to act like loners a lot of the time, cat training is not as difficult as it may seem. You can change any cats behavior problems with the right cat pet training techniques.

One of the main reasons that cat pet training seems difficult is that your cat probably doesn’t understand what you asking of it. Training your cat takes a little time and a little patience. The methods used need to be different from the methods that you would use to train a dog. A dog will normally try to please you in some way after it has been told off, a cat on the other hand will not respond to being told off. The chances are that it will either ignore you, or even avoid getting close to you in the future.

The perfect way to train your cat will be by using methods of reward. Focus on praising your cat each time that you see it doing what you want it to. When you see your cat doing something that you don't want it to do, you should simply ignore your pet and don't give it any attention at all. In this way your cat will learn that it will be rewarded for certain types of behavior. It will also learn that it will get nothing for other types of behavior.

At the end of the day, all of us want attention, love, and rewards. Cats are no different, it is just a question of applying the right techniques to get your cat to behave in the way that you want it to. While it is always best to try and start training your cat at an early age, it doesn’t mean that an older cat cannot learn new behaviors. It will probably take a little more time and a little more patience, depending on your cats temperament. However you will be able to change your cats behavior.

Getting your cat to come to you when you call it is probably the first thing that you will want it to learn. When you try and train your pet to do this, try to make sure that there are no distractions. This way your cat will be focused on just one thing. You will need a command that you stick to for this cat training exercise. Keep your command short. Only use a couple of words to your cat and try not to have a conversation with it. Keep it simple and short.

Once you have picked the command, you need to focus on your tone. This is important for training your cat. Your cat cannot really understand all the words that you will use, but it will understand the tone that you use. Try to make your voice sound as if you are really pleased. Hold a treat that you know your cat will like, and sit or kneel down on the floor. The reason for this is that you make yourself smaller and this is less intimidating.

Then you call your cat in your happy exciting voice. If your cat comes to you straight away, make sure you give it the treat and make a fuss over it. Then you can move to a different area, away from your cat, and repeat the process. Just do this cat training exercise for about 5 minutes each day, and very quickly you will see a massive improvement in your cats behavior when you call it.

Cat pet training is not that difficult, it’s just about knowing what to do. You can easily train your cat and change your cats behavior problems, with a little time and patience. Read the complete cat training review which shows you the most effective methods of cat training.
