How Hard is it Toilet Training Cats?

Toilet training cats is a simple procedure. Most people are generally unaware of how simple it is to train a cat. It is just a question of understanding your cat.
There are a few things that you will need to understand first if you want to toilet train your cat.
First of all you need to understand something about your cat. Most cats are not very responsive to being reprimanded. You could show your displeasure by the tone of your voice, and this should only be done if you actually catch your cat doing something wrong. It's pointless reprimanding your pet unless you catch it in the act.
Cats, unlike humans think in the present, and don't really understand the notion of dwelling in the past. If you find your cat making a mess on the floor, please don't attempt to rub the cats nose into it. Your cat will just learn not to approacg you.
Back to toilet training cats, you can toilet train your cat in a week or it might take a month or so. It all depends on your cat and your relationship with it.
Your cats litter tray will then have to be placed next to the toilet. This allows your cat to become familiar with the toilet.
You will have to a training bowl. This is just a small bowl that fits inside a regular toilet. You would then place some cat litter in this bowl. You would then place your cat on this bowl. The chances are, your cat will just jump off.
Don't let this bother you, its a normal way for your cat to behave. This will just result in your cat distancing itself from you. The next step would be to place your cat on the bowl every other day, if your cat starts to use it, then its great. If on the other hand your cat doesn't use it, then you will need to take away your cats litter tray, and all other litter trays in the house.
Your cat will have no choice but to turn to the bowl in your toilet, once it learns that it is the only place containing cat litter. Toilet training cats is a matter of patience and the ability to understanding the cat temperament.
The first time you catch your cat using the toilet, make sure that you make a fuss over it. Although cats come across as loners, they do bond with their owners and like all the attention that they can get. Plus your cat will realise that it will get praise when it behaves in a particular way, so it will be more inclined to repeat that behaviour.
Regardless whether its toilet training for cats or any other sort of training to find a solution for your cats problems, the thing to keep in mind is that cat training works.
